why did i come home again?

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

ya know, i keep telling myself why i ever left colorado. i tell myself that everytime. at this point i’m 95% sure ill be living out west this time next year. i’ve decided to become a brewer/brewmaster and open my own microbrewery at some ski resort in colorado. i’d like to continue with bicycles. we’ll see how it goes. lifes become so boring here in the cities as of late. i never thought i’d ever say that of this place but its true. we got about one inch of snow so far. lame. if it hadn’t rained all day monday we’d have about a foot. we are supposed to get a couple more inches today though. im geared up and ready to start skiing. so is the team. welcome back old man winter!! i have two goals for this season. 1. learn how to play guitar and 2. become a better brewer. good luck to me. well today is my one day off this week and i have a shitload of things to get done here. check y’all later. Love. Peace. and Bicycle grease.

KEYSTONE TRIP!!

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

well, we got back last night around 3:30 am from our trip out to Keystone, CO. what a trip it was. we left wednesday afternoon and arrived early thursday morning around 5:30am. it took about 15 hours to get there and it was a rough drive. had some beers on the way and a fair amount of "cigarette’s". ha ha. i had ALOT of those funny "cigarette’s" on the trip :) there were 5 of us in a 4 door SUV packed with luggage, ski’s, and snowboards. very cramped. after we slept all of 3 hours it was time to hit the hill. we skied for about 3 hours or so at keystone. got back and had some beers. i couldn’t last any longer that day and decided to drink the rest of the day. got pretty messed up on thursday night. it was fun. the next morning we felt a little better. miller and i had a beer at 7:30am with our pancakes. what a concept eh? friday we went over to Arapahoe Basin(Abasin) and skied there for a few hours, had some beers it was very nice at this place. higher then keystone and a little better in my opinion. rested up had some lunch then hit keystone later in the afternoon. miller and pj went over to breckinridge. good day of skiing. friday night we all got a little crazy. pj was passed out by 10:30 i believe. chris, greg, and i stayed at the bar for awhile. got really drunk there. it was fun, a live band was playing and they were pretty chill. we were all very intoxicated. they say 1 beer at altitude is like having 3 in the mountains. i think its more like 2-1 ratio. anyhoo, miller and i both had around 12 beers and a few shots. see what i mean? saturday morning was rough for all of us. it was worth it though. i guess someone threw up on the balcony that night but no-one could remember who it was. oh my!! the drive home wasn’t so bad. it went faster(not sure why cause we were all very hungover) check out the photo gallery. most of these pics are from Abasin because i forgot to bring my camera up the hill at keystone until the last couple o-runs. thats all for now, time to cut my hair and re-dye it black. check y’all later. cheers.  Love. Peace. and Bicycle grease.

almost time!!

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

well, today was my last day of work for 5 days. tomorrow at this time i will be on my way to Keystone Colorado. i can’t wait. there will be lots of pics when i get back so don’t you worry. we went to B-dubs last night to watch the vikings game. what a game it was. good times. i wish i was bringing my nordic ski’s out west but my friends won’t let me. i spose its good though, i haven’t been downhill skiing on downhill ski’s in awhile.  what i would like to do is some tele skiing, but the only experience i have with that is on my nordic ski’s going down the ski hills here in Minny, which aren’t shit compared to whats out there. i’m gonna bottle the IPA before i leave tomorrow, it’ll be ready to go when i get back. well, i don’t have much to say today cause i got alotta packing to do. time to go party for a week. check y’all on the flip side. Love. Peace. and Bicycle Grease. :)

nice night for a neck injury

Saturday, November 19th, 2005

where did all the snow go? i wish i knew. instead of staying cold and snowing more its warmed up and will probablly rain again. i spose its not all that bad, i mean we usually don’t get snow until january. how lame is that? maybe we’ll get lucky this year. went out to Houlihan’s last night with chuck. good times, nice bar. we asked the bartender to make us a couple apple jacks. he didn’t know how much jack and how much pucker to use. i always for get so i said half and half. well he poured about 3/4’s jacke and 1/4 pucker. nevertheless after we downed em’ we realized it should be 3/4’s pucker and 1/4 jack. ha ha. good stuff. we’re gonna hit up Stub and Herbs tonight(one of the best bars down at the U). my buddy is dj’ing there on friday and saturday nights. should be fun. that was the very first bar i went to when i turned 21. only 4 days until we’re on the road to keystone. yesterday at work charlie and i checked out this website that gives you a general idea of you’re BAL(blood alcohol level) after X amount of drinks. thursday night i had 10 beers and according to the chart i would have been at .21. it also stated that an individual at this point would feel nausea, spins, and blacking out amongst other things. funny, i felt none of these. is that a sign that i should lay off the sauce a bit? i think it might be. we’ll see how that goes. ill probablly ride the trainer tonight for about an hour before we go out. well gotta go. Love, Peace, and Bicycle grease.

one week and counting

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005

hell yea, its almost that time. this time next week we will be halfway to Keystone Colorado to ski, drink, smoke, and what ever else. they’ve already got a 23" base and counting. its gonna be great. ill have lots of pics to share when i get back. well the snowstorm we were supposed to get fizzled out here in the cities. we got an inch if even that much. but it was nice to wake up to a white ground once again. chilly today too. a nice change. i’m ready to start skiing. rode the trainer tonight for about an hour. felt good. i gotta get my lazy ass back in shape. the ski team is in full swing now and i don’t want those kids to think their asst. coach is in bad shape. i’ll hide it best i can. boy do i hate running. thats why i hope for snow as soon as possible. less running more skiing. it was so boring at work today that i made a wax chart for skiing. color coordinated and everything. took up about 3 hours of my time. lame. i gotta start brining in the 3 books i need to read. ah yes, one homebrew down the hatch and its hitting me. this stout is around 18%!!!! how cool is that? thats all folks. Peace. Love. and Bicycle grease.

snow’s a comin’

Tuesday, November 15th, 2005

looks like we’re gonna get snow early for once this year. although its only gonna be about 3 inches or so, its a start. it gets me pumped up for my trip out to keystone next weekend. SWEET. i decided it’s time to replace the muffler i’ve been without for over 6 months now. i looked around everyone was charging about $130 for one. so i called up my favorite junkyard(Sam’s) and they said $20 used and i gotta pull if off myself. hell yea!! ill be going over there today in this crappy weather and taking it off. should be a project. im sure the mounting bolts are rusted solid and i’ll have to saw em’ off. thats ok though. anything to save a buck right? ski practice started yesterday, i hope to make it out there today. depends on how long this muffler project takes. otherwise i’ll ride the trainer tonight. well im out. thinkin’ about snow. cheers
